It has become somewhat of a journalistic trend as of late to relate every subject, trend or social issue back to the recession and to follow up with a nice little round up that it will probably ruin every moment of our living, breathing, spending moments.

Yes we can appreciate that Balmain’s £1000 ripped jeans seem a little excessive against rising unemployment levels and Lanvin’s crystal-encrusted sky-high heels in slightly bad taste, but I doubt the fashion industry lets all this financial crisis business trouble them too much.

The wardrobe cravings must be satisfied even if the purse strings have been tightened and what comes to the rescue for fashionistas? The sample sale, of course.

Of course sample sales are not new occurrences but with times as gloomy as we’re told they are, sales are having a heyday, with more and more high end brands going down the sample sale route and slashing their prices further.
