Already known for being effortlessly cool, reasonable prices and the place to go in Old Street for a great meal or cocktails, The Hoxton has added a few more strings to its bow. The hotel has commissioned three designers to create “East London” themed rooms – Project Orange, Suzy Hoodless and Adrian Kilby – and Glam stayed at the former to see if they lived up to the hype.

The Hoxton has a New York vibe about it, which does mean the rooms in general are quite small, but Project Orange works the space it occupies very well. The bed is nestled in the corner, covered on three sides and flanked by padded leather headboards, lamps and all the pillows you might need to sit back and watch the large TV that is mounted on the wall.
One of the best ways the designers have conserved space – and this might at first impression seem odd – is that the bathroom merges into the bedroom via the large glass shower that connects the two. While looking fabulous it is also a fun way to make the room a little bit different. For style and close proximity to Shoreditch and the City, there is nowhere better.

The best bit is that the new rooms are no more expensive than the others in the hotel and all rates include a Pret Breakfast delivered to your room each morning. If there is anything else you should need, you can get it from the front desk kiosk.
