As a pale brunette, I have always struggled with having dark body hair – and I hate it. Whether I shave, wax, or even epilate, I can never achieve a smooth and clean look. I have always wanted to get laser hair removal, especially for my legs, but let’s face it – it is very expensive to get done in a salon, and a lengthy process at that.
Then, I heard about a new and apparently affective ‘at-home’ laser hair removal machine called the E-One. Sold at £1319, it is not cheap, but when you factor in the cost of each session needed for one area at a salon it doesn’t seem so bad!
Here is how I got on….
I got the instructions out to read through, and although I found the machine easy to use, I was unclear about the regularity of use and how long this will take to achieve the result I want. It sounds like 10-12 sessions in total, but I think they could make it clearer how long you wait in between. I am guessing enough time for the hair to fall out and new hair to come through. I fear this will take
As suggested I thought I would start with a test square on my leg, increasing the intensity of the ‘zap’ until I reached the maximum. It really didn’t hurt, which I was surprised at. I do have a fairly high pain threshold though, so for some it may be too much, but I found it easy. So then I tackled some small areas – my armpits were quick to do and painless… bikini line? Not so much! I did need to brace myself before each ‘zap’.
The next day I tackled my lower legs, and it was not for the impatient; which I am! It took me over an hour per leg. I used the white pen provided to draw squares so that I could keep track of what I had done. I had to keep reminding myself of the potential outcome – as going through this process multiple times is not appealing.
I have done my arms which have quite a few freckles/moles on them, and even though I covered them with the stickers provided, they seem to have been affected quite badly. They are darker and seem to have scabbed, which is rather worrying… I won’t be using it again on any areas with moles.
I left a month between each further treatment, as you have to wait for a new cycle of hair. After just one treatment I did notice a difference in the amount of hair growth – notably on my bikini line, which I think is probably helpful because I have waxed a fair bit in the past.
The E-One became a regualr part of my life every month – for a year. It did become a little bit of a chore; but I just put the TV on to amuse me while I did it, and just seeing the results made it worth while. I highly recommend it over paying out to go to a salon; whether that is for years of waxing, or for laser hair removal.
Thank you to the E -One – I am happy to say that I now have legs I have always dreamt of! A very happy girl.
The E>One classic costs £1,319.00 and is available to buy on www.eswin.co.uk (http://www.eswin.co.uk/engb/reserver)
